Sky Rivers (a homage to John Tyndall) is a new work by Remco de Fouw in Carlow Town Park.
Commissioned by Carlow County Council, Sky Rivers is an interactive space created in the space between four stones perforated by over 700 glass rods of various shades of blue. The levels and intensity of colour and detail within the glass will depend on the position of the sun and will vary hugely with the seasons and the time of day. Viewers find themselves communicating and interacting with each other by their silhouettes or shadows being made visible in abstract form through the glass and stone from each side.
