Description:

The Purpose built Music center has a large foyer where people gather outside the main Auditorium before and after performances. I produced 4 works, each incorporating bronze castings of the ears of both staff and members of the public. These are both left and right ears and are playfully positioned in hand turned dish forms of native Ash. These in turn are mounted between brass ‘frets’ in the large curved hollow wooden ‘box’. There are two of these structures designed to suggest, stops or dials and there are two related smaller works in the bar and stairwell areas of the building.
